It’s a holiday Monday in Canada. Victoria day. Happy Victoria Day to my fellow Canadians – I hope you had a nice burst of heat as we did in Southwestern Ontario and that you enjoyed the extra time with your loved ones.
I had a big task list that
I wanted to get through with the extra day. I touched a little on each but none were fully completed. Here’s the run-down.
1. Garage – I’ve been following Org Junkie’s The Great Garage Clean Out Challenge. It’s very inspirational. We have a rafter that we rotate seasonal items onto. I can’t do this by myself with the ladder and heavy items so I needed to wait for help. We finally had a moment to get things rotated. Much to my horror the garage is now overflowing with even more items as I sort like-with-like. How come organizing and purging always has to get “out of control” before it gets better?
2. Powder Room – We FINALLY agreed on a colour (click to hear about the debate). I spent all of Friday patching up holes and waiting for it to dry between coats. Then the heat and humidity came. Saturday we had windows open and it was too warm to paint. Sunday we tried the air conditioning and I didn’t want to paint with the windows closed. Saturday night we opened windows to cool things down more and today the temperature rose again so that scratched the painting over the long weekend plan. Thankfully it rained tonight and cooled things down considerably. I hope it remains cool this week so I can get things moving. Even a coat a day would be great. Ideally it will be done during the week, as long as the weather cooperates and my energy levels stay high in the evenings!
3. Small Projects Sew-Along (May 2012) – I’m plugging away. I have ambitious plans but if I can get the 2 pairs of shorts for Travis and the 1 pair of capris for Ava that I have cut and pinned and ready to sew this week then I’ll be feeling really good about what I’ll have accomplished this month. I’m adding my updates to my Crafts Page regularly. I am taking photos of the projects but haven’t quite made it to uploading to the computer for you to see. I’ll try to get that done this week too.
What projects are you working on and how are you progressing?

Good for you for tackling your to-do list. Mine is ever growing and I need to set aside some time to get going on it.
