Book Review ~ Three Cups of Tea

I don’t recall exactly where I got the idea to read this book but, although it is taking me a while to sift through it, I really am enjoying the
message.

Greg Mortenson is a mountain climber and while descending K2 in Pakistan he stumbles into an isolated village, falls in love with its people, and promises himself and the village leader that he will return to build them a school. One thing leads to another and, as time moves on, we learn of his home life in America (marriage, children, nursing career, etc.) and his life in Pakistan developing and supporting it’s people through building schools and other initiatives that contribute to independence and a more stable financial future for those in isolated and impoverished villages.

Three Cups of Tea inspires one to assist others as their successes, enthusiasm, increased quality of life, personal growth and financial independence are the only rewards required.
