Google Reader Alternatives

Have you heard? Google has announced it will be shutting down Google Reader as of July 1, 2013! How will you keep up with your favorite blogs? Personally, I’m joining Bloglovin’. I just signed up for it after reading about a few Google Reader options on this great post by Practically Functional. I had the chance to play around with it and I must admit, I prefer it to Google Reader. Reader trunkated the posts and I found that extremely frustrating. Bloglovin’ has the option to read a summary or take me right to the original blog. While in the original blog I still have

I Need Comment Love, Please

I’m feeling a little lonely. I see that over 100 of you have been checking out my crochet hats and free Batman pattern but I haven’t received one comment. Can you do me a favour and tell me if the reason is that my comment set-up is working or is it too difficult? Please let me know so I can fix it if need be. I also share lots of comment love and visit my blog buddies often. Many thanks in advance to those of you who are sharing comment love with me 🙂 I’m working to finish the Batman

Back to School – How to Get Ready?

Are you getting your little ones ready for school? My two are both entering full-day school this September so it’s a first for me to have full-day every day. I’m grateful to all the bloggers out there sharing tips for healthy school meal plans, freezer lunches, checklists, what to buy and homework stations. Here are some of my favourite sites so far. Please feel free to link up any links you have written and/or come across that you think would help in organizing getting ready for school. I will continue to add more as I find interesting links. 30 Days

Summer Kids Pajamas

I went into Fabricland a few weeks ago and purchased a bunch of material with nothing specific in mind except it could be summer shorts, capris or skirts for my 6 year old daughter. I washed and folded the fabric and then they have sat. You can see the fabrics I’m choosing from on my Skirt Inspiration post. Today I decided that Ava needs some pajamas. I found some Simplicity pajama patterns that my mom used when I was a kid. I think the cupcake material is a definite pajama option. I’m thinking I might try to get the Hello

The Bathroom

I’ve having a bit of a home debate. So many things I love about the house but, even with a lot of decluttering, it’s feeling small and I’m wanting a change. I’ve never been in the position to choose to move before as outside factors have made the changes for me so this is a new feeling and I’m not sure what is causing it. If it is a matter of simply reorganizing our home and perhaps some new paint in it then I’ll tackle that but I’m not so sure it’s that easy of a fix. Either way (if

Looking Forward to Routine

Thank you to everyone for making my SITS day so special. I’ve been absent due to an out-of-town competition for my 6 year old daughter’s dancing. It’s fun but also has kept me away from my computer. I’m loving the comments and will do my best to respond to them as the week progresses. I was doing really well with exercising. I just increased my gym membership to an every day versus an alternate day option and was going every day for a week. I’ve been logging my calories, increasing my fruit/veggies and water intake and have been walking or

Household Projects

I was doing so great at decluttering and then I sputtered. I got a flu this week that wasn’t full blown but had body aches, headache, and pretty much left me a useless lump without any energy. I’m on the mend though so I’m planning to get back on track this week. The main theme of my spring cleaning is to go room by room and purge as well as do a deeper clean (screens, windows, baseboards, move furniture to really get the dust bunnies out). I’ve been unsettled and have the desire to move but I figured if I
